Ember Line -
The Shore on Fire

The same lake. A different truth.

Above, the water still carries its cool reflections – grey, blue, unhurried. But below, where the shore should be, darkness has taken over completely. And from that darkness, red erupts. The reeds and grasses along the shore have been transformed into blazing, jagged forms – part flame, part wound, part warning. They do not flicker gently. They slash.

The contrast is absolute: the serene indifference of the water above, the burning urgency below. The black ground between them is not empty – it is a threshold, a no-man's-land between calm and crisis.

Compared to its quieter companion piece, this image turns the same scene inside out. Where the other found poetry in reflection, this one finds alarm.

The lake, however, remains unmoved. Still.
