Below the Surface -
The World as Reflection
Everything here is water. And yet everything is also something else./
Boats, hulls, masts, autumn foliage – all dissolved into the shimmering surface of a harbour, refracted and reimagined by gentle ripples. Red billows like fabric or flame. Teal and green shift beneath like a living floor. A white form curves through the center with the grace of a wing or a wave. Nothing is quite itself, and yet everything is entirely present.
This is not abstraction imposed from outside – it is abstraction found. The water has done the work, and the image simply bears witness. What might be mundane above the surface becomes, in reflection, something close to painting.
The world, seen upside down and underwater, turns out to be more vivid than we thought.
