The Street That Remembers -
A Village After Something
A village lane in winter, snow rutted with tyre tracks, an old farmhouse to the right, bare trees against a darkened sky. The scene is familiar – and yet deeply unsettled.
The sky above the roofline has begun to decay. Dark blotches spread like mould or shrapnel damage across the upper half of the image, dripping downward as if the photograph itself is deteriorating. The snow glows an unnatural cyan-blue, too vivid, too cold – not the soft white of a quiet winter morning but something more forensic, more exposed.
The warm amber light from a single window is the only comfort in the frame. Everything else feels like aftermath. The tyre tracks lead in, but offer no promise of a way out.
The village stands. But the image around it is coming apart at the seams.
