One Stem -
The Small Thing That Carries the Light
A single grass stem rises from the bottom of the frame, slender and precise against a world that has lost all focus. Its seed head glows – white at the tip, burning orange and yellow at its core – a tiny torch held upright in the middle of dissolution.
Behind it, two realities collide without resolving. To the left, a bleached urban scene flickers in overexposed fragments – green benches, a bus, a figure in red, all flattened into electric colour outlines. To the right, darkness pools and surges in deep red and black, volcanic and restless. The stem stands between them, belonging to neither.
It is the smallest thing in the image and the most grounded. Everything else shifts, burns, or fades. The stem simply holds its position.
In the midst of all this noise, one small thing refuses to move.
