Blue Berries / Red World -
A Small Cluster at the Centre of Everything

Dark berries hang from a slender branch, their dusty blue-violet surface cool and self-contained. Around them, the world is on fire.

Red slashes tear through the darkness on all sides jagged, urgent, uncontained. Green and yellow threads cascade from above like sparks or filaments, crossing the berries without touching their essential stillness. The surrounding foliage, soft and blurred at the edges, frames the scene like a stage set for something intimate and charged.

The berries hold their calm at the centre of all this intensity. They are not dramatic. They simply are – small, ripe, oblivious to the visual storm erupting around them.

It is a composition about scale and contrast: the quiet fact of natural things against the noise we layer over the world.

The berries don't need the fire. The fire needs the berries.
