A place no one sits

The Bench -
A Place No One Sits

A garden in winter, a stone bench, a bare tree. The scene carries the quiet weight of absence – a place made for contemplation, now empty.

But the image refuses melancholy. Where the branches reach into the sky, they ignite: gold and violet erupt from the grey, a burst of color that transforms the tree into something between torch and vision. Orange blazes along the trunk. Magenta and red smolder through the mist on the right. Even the grass below is dusted with blue, as if the ground itself is charged.

The speckled texture throughout gives the whole scene a dreamlike grain – as though we are remembering this place rather than seeing it. The bench waits. The tree burns quietly. The world around it hums with a color it shouldn't have.

Stillness, it turns out, is not the absence of intensity.
