What Has Been -
The Surface Remembers
Pale teal and warm ochre drift through the image in slow, horizontal bands, interrupted by vertical streaks that fall like rain frozen mid-descent. The overall tone is muted, almost tender — a palette of faded things, of colours that have been somewhere and returned quieter. White threads through everything, not as light exactly, but as erosion, wearing the colour back to its ground.
The effect is less destruction than translation. The scene is not disappearing — it is being rendered in another language, one where certainty gives way to suggestion and the eye must work to assemble meaning from drift. Three dark stones anchor the lower edge, stubbornly concrete amid the dissolution above them.
Some facts remain when everything else becomes impression.
